The annual meeting of the Society for the Study of the Indigenous Languages of the Americas was held in Austin, Texas from January 5-8 in conjunction with the 91st annual meeting of the Linguistic Society of America.At the SSILA business meeting, Victor Golla was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his 25 years of service as Founding Secretary-Treasurer and Newletter Editor of the Society.
